NAKODAR: The Punjab Home Guards department has not yet issued vouchers to its volunteers for free travel in roadways buses even as more than 11 years passed since the government took the decision. The state government, at a meeting of ministers in December 2011, approved recommendations of the cabinet committee to offer free bus travel facilities to Home Guard volunteers in roadways buses. Volunteers said they have yet to receive vouchers.
Sources in the Director General Office (home guards) said that the finance department has refused to issue a requisite notification in this regard.
