The Bilga police have arrested Rannjit Singh a resident of Jandiala village under Jamsher Sadar police station, Karandeep Singh a resident of Rurrka Khurd village under Goraya police station and Jaspal Singh a resident of Umar Pur village on the charges of illegal sand mining.
Mining inspector Bist Doad division Jalandhar Jaswindar Singh complained to the police that the accused were carrying sand in three tippers but could not produce any documents.
The investigating officer Amrik Singh said a case under section 379(theft) of the IPC and section 21of the Punjab mining act has been registered against the accused and their three tippers loaded with sand have been impounded.
