Immigrants from UP demands conversion of Varanasi Special Train into Express Train

  • Urges to run Varanasi Special on Friday and Monday instead of Sunday
  • Writes to the Union Minister of Railways

Bathinda: People traveling by train from Najibabad (Uttar Pradesh) to Bathinda and nearby districts working in government, semi-government, institutions or doing labor job and service in army today demanded that Varanasi Special Train be converted into Express train. A demand has been raised to express their desire by writing a letter to the Railway Minister of India.

In this letter, written by Habibur-Rahman, a resident of Bathinda, said that the residents of Malwa districts who came from Uttar Pradesh were pleased  to know about this train, which was started before lockdown. He said that he had done the 8-hour journey from Bathinda to Najibabad in 22 and 24 hours and now this direct train has given people like him much respite.

But still a lot of problem persists as the train doesn’t stops at Najibabad Railway Station despite the fact that a large number of people disembark at this station.

He said that keeping in view the interest of large number of people railways should start running the Express Train not only on Sunday but also on Friday and Monday, with halt at Najibabad.

This will help pubic as well as increase the revenues of the Indian Railways.
