Amritsar resident booked for cheating a Kotkapura man of Rs 60/70 lakh
  • Allegedly lured the complainant to get appointed as tehsildar.
  • The Amount was partially paid to the accused.

Faridkot: A kotkapura resident, Bhuvesh Kataria has alleged that Abhishek Kumar, a resident of Amritsar city has cheated him of Rs 60/70 lakh.
The complainant has alleged that he got acquaintance of the accused with the passage of time and he told him that if someone wanted to get appointed as tehsildar during the processing of the latest vacancies for the post of the tehsildar, he can get one appined on the same post because he enjoys good relations with the some politicians.
The complainant has further alleged that he and his friend Bohar Singh were trapped in his promise and thus, the accused cheated him of Rs 60/70 lakh.
He alleged that the accused did not get him any job.
The police have registered a case under section 420 of IPC(cheating) at the city police station, Kotkapura of Faridkot district.
When contacted,SI Gurbinder Singh said that some of the amount was given by complaint through cheques to the accused and some was yet to be paid.
