NURMAHAL: The Bilga police have booked Akashdeep Singh a resident of Burj Hassan village on the charge of illegal sand mining.
Junior Engineer cum mining inspector Bist Doab division Jalandhar complained to the police that the accused was indulging in illegal quarrying of sand was carrying sand in a tractor trolly and was intercepted on Burj Hassan -Dhangara road and fled away leaving his tractor trolly.
The Investigating Officer Satpal said that a case under section 21 of the Punjab Mining Act and section 379(theft) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and impounded a tractor trolly loaded with sand.
