Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh joins BJP with Seven former MLAs and one MP

NEW DELHI: Amarinder Singh Joins BJP: Former Punjab Chief Minister and Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) chief Captain Amarinder Singh joined BJP on Monday. While, Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) also merged with the BJP.

 

Captain Amrinder Singh who two-time former chief minister is the scion of the erstwhile Patiala royal family.

Union Ministers Narendra Tomar and Kiren Rijiju were present on this occasion. Tomar said that the merger of PLC with BJP will strengthen the party.

He further said that Captain Sahib has always kept the nation at the top. I am happy to welcome him and his supporters on behalf of lakhs of BJP workers. Along with Amarinder Singh, former Congress leader and former Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly Ajaib Singh Bhatti has also joined BJP.

Seven former MLAs and one former MP will also join the BJP along with Amarinder Singh.

 

What did Amarinder Singh say?

Taking membership of BJP, Amarinder Singh said that I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister. After joining the BJP, Singh said that the governments of Congress times had not strengthened the army. When an Antony was the Defense Minister, the government did not enter into defense deals with him.

"Had a very productive meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji. Discussed various issues pertaining to National security, the rising cases of narco-terrorism in Punjab and the future roadmap for the overall holistic development of Punjab," Singh had tweeted.
