Faridkot: District matches of swimming were held at the well maintained state level pool of West Point School Kotkapura. Teams of boys and girls of various schools from Faridkot district participated in this district level swimming tournament. All the teams were filled with enthusiasm and determination to take part in this marvelous event. Results of this year district swimming competition were victorious for West Point School. Starting with Under 14 boys Umedh Singh Nakai won a gold in 50m butterfly and silver in 50m freestyle In Under 14 girls, Tahira Kaur Nakai won gold in all three events which were 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly. Under 17 girls, Harguneet Kaur Sandhu won a gold in 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 100m breaststroke, Hunerdeep Kaur Dhillon won gold in 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle.
Under 17 boys, Ravi Pratap Singh won a silver 50m freestyle, Ritvik Raj Ganolia won silver in 50m backstroke and 100m backstroke, Piyush Chawla won a silver in 50m breaststroke and Navdeep Singh won a bronze in 50m freestyle. On the end of the event school Director S. Himmat Singh Nakai and Principal Mrs Harleen Nakai gave congratulations to all the winning teams and participants and explain the reason for making a state level swimming pool was to motivate and encourage their students towards the swimming which is an incredible sport. All the winner of West Point School were selected for Punjab State Level tournament.
