NAKODAR
The Mehat Pur police have arrested a Bilga villager on the charge of murder of Mohindar Singh Sarpanch of Bute Dian Chhana village.
Investigating Officer (IO) Harkirat Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh aliasGopi Walia son of Jasveer Singh a resident of Pati Bhilayee ,Bilga village.
IO said the accused and his accomplices had attacked Sarpanch and his wife with intention to kill on February 28 and seriously injured him who succumbed to his injuries.
IO said a case under section (109) (murder bid) and others was registered against the accused and his accomplices and section 103(1) (murder) has been added in the FIR.
The case was registered on a complaint by Amar Kaur wife of the deceased on February 28,2026.
