Axis bank theft: three members of thieves’ gang arrested

The Nurmahal police have arrested three members of a thief’s gang involved in a theft incident in the Axis Bank branch here.

The investigating officer (IO) Paramjit Singh said that the accused have been identified as  Kailash Bind son of Punit Bind, Gajja Nand son of Rajindar Bind and Raja alias Raju son of Parshu Ram all residents of Munger district in Bihar state.

IO said the accused have been brought from Kapurthala jail where they were logged in connection with a theft in Axis Bank branch Fattu Dheenga in Kapurthala. The accused had stolen Rs 38 Lakhs from there on September 29, 2022, after committing the same crime at the Nurmahal bank branch.   

IO said the Nurmahal police had booked unidentified thieves on the charge of stealing cash from the Axis bank branch.

Cheema Kalan bank branch manager Vivek Bhargav had complained to the police that a theft incident happened at the Axis Bank branch on September 11, 2022, approximately at 12.30 A.M. He had said in his complaint that it was noticed on September 12 at 9 A.M when the branch was opened and Rs 11,65,680 was missing which were stolen.

 

IO said a case under sections 457(lurking house-trespass) and 380(theft in dwelling house) of the IPC was registered against the accused.
