Under the Punjab Government’s ongoing anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh”, another decisive action was carried out today in Jalandhar. The Jalandhar Municipal Corporation, with strong support from the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, demolished an illegal structure belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Mohalla Mandi Road Jalandhar. Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur said that the operation was jointly executed by the Municipal Corporation and the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police. ADCP- I and ACP North personally supervised the demolition on the ground. The illegal construction belonged to Rohit Tandon alias Nitin Tandon, son of Rajeev Tandon under the jurisdiction of Police Station Division No. 3, Jalandhar Commissionerate. Rohit Tandon alias Nitin Tandon is a notorious drug peddler, already facing seven cases including the NDPS Act, Excise Act and Gambling Act. Jalandhar Police reaffirmed that no illegal activity related to drugs will be tolerated, and such strict actions will continue in the coming days to curb drug trafficking in the district. The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has appealed to citizens to share any information regarding drug trafficking or illegal drug activities through the government-issued WhatsApp number 9779-100-200. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
