The Jalandhar (rural) police on Monday destroyed drugs seized under NDPS Act by various police stations.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Swarandeep Singh in a press release said that the drugs seized in 145 cases were destroyed in a fire on the premises of Green Plant Energy Private Limited Bir Pind village.
He said that destroyed drugs included 2386 kilograms and 400 grams of poppy husk,4 kilograms and 894 grams of heroin,3 kilograms and 401 grams of intoxicant powder,6 kilograms 500 grams of ganja,13 grams of smack,1285 intoxicant injections,9779 intoxicant tablets,2750 intoxicant capsules, 5 syringes, 5 needles, 4 intoxicant vials, and 4 empty vials
The press note said that the drug disposal committee of Jalandhar rural chairman and SSP Swarandeep Singh, SP(D) Sarabjit Singh, and Jaswindar Singh Chahal DSP (D) were present on the occasion.
