Heavy police arrangements were put in place as the Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) a religious sect headed by Ashutosh Mahraj (clinically declared dead but claimed to be in Samadhi), held its Guru Purnima celebrations on Thursday given the threats by some terrorists against the Sansthan, headquartered in Nurmahal.
The district police had deployed more than 1000 police
personnel for providing security during the annual function. Thousands of devotees from all over the state participated in the celebrations.
Prominent leaders of the main political parties, which include Haryana chief minister, Nayab Singh Saini,Ravneet Singh Bittu, state railway minster, DR Rajiv Bharadwaj, MP Kangra (BJP) , Raj Kumar Chabe Wal MP Hoshiar Pur (AAP) ,Charanjit Singh Channi MP(Congress) and many others paid obeisance at Dera on this occasion .
