The Shahkot police have arrested a local shopkeeper on the charge of selling Chinese string which has been banned.
The investigating officer (IO) Lakhbir Singh said that the accused has been identified as Manjit Kumar son of Sehdev a resident of Mohalla Nim Wala, ward no.5, and recovered 9 spools of Chines string from his grocery shop.
IO said a case under section 188(disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
