Jalandhar resident booked for duping scheduled bank of Rs 7.86 Lakhs

 

NAKODAR

The Nakodar city police have booked a Jalandhar resident on charges of duping a scheduled bank of Rs 7.86 Lakhs.

The investigating officer (IO) Sarabjit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gaurav Pal son of Ram Lubhaya a resident of B-1/925, Mohalla Ram Nagar under Ramman Mandi police station.

Shamsur Rehman, chief regional manager of the Indian Overseas bank branch Shankar road Nakodar complained to the Jalandhar(rural)  senior superintendent of police that the accused during the time period from 15/7/2019 to 21/12 2020 made transactions by ETAX-Menu-PAYAM- UPI  mode from personal accounts of the bank and procured demand drafts and cheated the bank of more than Rs 7.86 lakhs.

 

IO said a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 420(cheating) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
