Kapurthala Jan.25: Two farm labours today died one serious after consuming insecticide filled in a liquor bottle at village Baupur falling in Sultanpur Lodhi.
Police identified the deceased as Nishan Singh (60) of village Lakhwarian falling in Sultanpur Lodhi, Suro Mandal (45) of Bihar while Phulkit (42) of Bihar has been admitted in a private hospital at Sultanpur Lodhi.
Sultanpurlodhi SHO Lakhwinder Singh confirmed the death of two labours .
He told media persons all the victims were working in the field of a farmer at village Baupur and they found a liquor bottle of first choice in a room in the fields and drank it mistakenly as a liquor when the bottle was filled with insecticide fluid .
Their condition became deteriorated after consuming it and on raising alarm they were rushed to civil hospital at sultanpur lodhi where two labours died while the third was shifted to a private hospital.
SSP Navneet Singh Bains when contacted by PUNJABTRIBUNE.COM said police would take action on the findings of post mortem report to ascertain the cause of death.
