The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a Kapurthala resident on the charge of murdering a youth.
Investigating Officer (IO) and posted in CIA Jalandhar (rural) Nirmal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Tirath Singh alias Tirath son of Major Singh a resident of Kala Sanghian village under Kapurthala Sadar police station.
IO said that the accused and his accomplices attacked and shot dead Kulwinder Singh alias Kindi (30) a resident of Kala Sangha village near Uggi village in August 2024.
Charan Dass a resident of Kala Sangha village and the father of the deceased had  complained to the police that his son Kindi was standing near Uggi village with his friend Laddu and two others when the accused reached there and attacked Kindi with sharp-edged weapons and he tried to save himself by running from the spot when one accused Sukhwindar Singh Kamando fired from his pistol at Kindi which pierced his legs and he died on the spot.
He said the accused had threatened his son to kill him who had come from Bangalore to attend a court case against him.
 
IO said a case under sections 103(murder), 191(3) (committing an offense with common intention), and 190(unlawful assembly) of the BNS and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused and others.
