The Lohian Khas police have arrested two brothers on the charges of breach of trust and cheating.
The investigating officer (IO) Govindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Balvir Singh son of Karnal Singh a resident of Ucha Boharr Wala village in Kapurthala and presently living in Mohalla Dhumanna Lohian Khas and his brother Mittar Singh.
Mukhtar Singh a resident of Nasire Wal village has complained to the Jalandhar (rural) superintendent of police that the accused signed an agreement with him to sell their 15 marlas plot situated in Lohian Khas and received an amount of Rs 15 lakhs from him as advance money but did not register a sale deed and cheated him.
IO said a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 420(cheating) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused after an inquiry.
