The Nakodar Sadar police on Thursday claimed to have busted a gang of snatchers with the arrest of two. Three snatched motorcycles were recovered from their possession.
Nakodar deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Harjindar Singh said in a press release that the police were on a Naka at the bus stand in the Gandharan village and intercepted the accused who have been identified Lovpreet Singh alias Golu son of Sukhdev Singh a resident of Kania Kalan village under Shahkot police station and Sarabjit Singh son of Surindar Singh a resident of Nur Pur Hakima village under Dharam Kot police station
DSP said that the accused are hardened criminals and were coming on a snatched motorcycle to sell it at Nakodar and were arrested and recovered two more motorcycles on their demarcation.
DSP said a case under section 379-B (snatching) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and an investigation is on.
