NAKODAR
Devotees paid obeisance at the dera and gurdwara amid tight security at nearby Mahem village on Maghi on Saturday. The administration had taken preventive measures in view of the tension between dera followers, and the shrine located on the same premises. The heavy police force was deployed on the spot. Station house officer Mehat Pur was present on the occasion with the police force.
There have been clashes earlier over the issue of the distribution of
liquor at the dera, as the gurdwara management had been demanding the practice be banned.
Sources said the administration while allowing liquor as Prasad banned distribution of the same from the dera premises. A kabaddi tournament was organized on the occasion.
