The Mehat Pur police have arrested a Shahkot four-wheeler driver on charges of causing death by negligence, rash driving, and mischief.
The investigating officer (IO) Harwindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Anuj son of Pardeep a resident of New Kartar Nagar Shahkot.
Mangat Ram a resident of Parjian Kalan village under Shahkot police station complained to the police that the accused was driving his car very fast and negligently and hit his son Karandeep Singh’s motorcycle on November 39 near a private school who died on the spot.
IO said that a case under sections 304-A (causing death by negligence), 279(rash driving on a public road), and 427(mischief) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
