The Nakodar city police have booked a migrant woman on the charges of cheating and criminal crimination.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Labh Singh said that the accused has been identified as Ranni Devi a resident of Rudar Pur district, Uttar Pradesh.
Tarun Kumar a resident of Mohalla Jalotiyan, Nakodar complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police that the accused fraudulently transferred Rs 80454 from his account into her account by online cheating.
SHO said that a case under sections 403(dishonestly misappropriate movable property),420(cheating), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and sections 66(c) and 66(d) of the IT Act has been registered against the accused and her unidentified accomplice after an inquiry and further investigations have been handed over to Inspector Pankaj Sharma police lines Jalandhar.
