Batala encounter: Police arrested gangster Bablu after 6 hours of cross-firing

BATALA: Punjab Police has arrested the gangster during the ongoing encounter in Batala. In fact, a fight between the gangster and the police was going on for about 6 hours in Kotla Bajjja Singh and Sukha Chira, a town near Batala.

 

Meanwhile, cross-firing also took place in which the gangster was shot and injured. According to the information received, several cases of drug smuggling have been registered against gangster Bablu in the past. The police took action to control him. He was hiding in Kamad to escape from the police.

The Batala police had laid siege to Kamad's fields. Bullet proof police vehicles were also present on the spot to nab the gangster. SSP Batala Satinder Singh was repeatedly announcing the surrender of gangster Bablu. Police also used drones and binoculars to trace his location.

Around 60-70 shots were fired from both sides - Police

IG Manish Chawla and SSP Satinder Singh said that about 60-70 bullets were fired from both sides. There are 7 cases registered against the accused Ranjot Singh alias Bablu. Four have been registered by Amritsar and three by Batala police. Two pistols have been recovered. Bablu is shot in the back and has been taken to the civil hospital.

Gangster's wife and child detained

 

Information has also been received that the gangster was with his wife and child with two pistols in both hands. On seeing the police car, the suspected gangster drove his car from the side. After this the police chased him on the basis of suspicion, then the unknown miscreant entered the fields. The police surrounded the fields. The wife and child of the said gangster have been taken into custody.
