Barnala: National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, Punjab Raj Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar Mohali and under the guidance of Hon'ble District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Barnala ji today dated 06.10.2022 District Legal Services Authority, From Barnala Health Department, Barnala, A medical checkup camp was organized at District Jail, Barnala with support. On this occasion Mr. Gurbir Singh, Hon'ble CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Barnala said that the team of medical officers sent by Civil Hospital Barnala in this medical camp, including Dr. Kakul Agarwal (Skin Specialist), Dr. Chopra (Ortho), Dr. Karandeep Singh (Medicine), Mr. Karamjit Singh (Ophthalmic Officer) and Dr Gurpreet Kaur (Dental) arrived and checked up 258 prisoners and deportees and medicines were also provided to the needy.
Apart from this Camp Court was also organized at Jail Barnala by Hon'ble CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority. Apart from this, he also informed about the free legal aid scheme offered by the District Legal Services Authority, Barnala and the schemes of NALSA to the prisoners/detainees. He also informed about the method of appeal in the Hon'ble High Court and the Hon'ble Supreme Court and the limitation period.
Apart from this, the prisoners and convicts were heard and assured to solve the problems facing the jail.
He further informed that a Legal Aid Clinic is being run by the District Legal Services Authority, Barnala at the District Jail, Barnala, where prisoners/detainees can get any information regarding their case.
