Faridkot: Shaheed Bhagat Singh Press Association Faridkot on Wednesday observed the 115th birthday of Saheed Bhagat Singh Singh at local park Faridkot.
The state presidnet of the press assocation,Gurwinder Singh Gora Sandhu demaned from the dsitrict administration to stop discrimination to the web and news portal journalists.
The association observed the birthday of Bhagat Singh by garlanding his statue at the local park.
“The district administation must stop the discrimination against the social media channels journalists as they are the voice of the down trodden people. We appeal to all the people to follow the footprints of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, who laid his life along with his comrades to get the country liberated,” said Satish Kumar, district president of the press association.
The association also expressed deep concern over the booking of the two journalists in Muktsar,one in Moga and nine in Sangrur.
“There should be some framework about social media instead of booking the social media reporters without investigation,” Satish Kumar said.
