The Lohian Khas police have arrested a thief and booked his two accomplices on the charge of stealing chickens.
The investigating officer (IO) Balwindar Singh said that the arrested accused has been identified as Gurprit Singh alias Kaka son of Mukhtiar Singh a resident of Ismail Pur village.
Jagjit Singh a resident of Rai Pur Gatti village complained to the police that the accused barged into his house on September 27 night and decamped away with a hen-hole containing five chickens.
IO said that a case under sections 380(theft in dwelling house) and 457 (lurking house trespass) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and Jasbir Singh alias Jas son of Tehal Singh and Lakhwindar Singh alias Babu son of Gurmukh Singh residents of Ban Ismail Pur village who are absconding.
