Deputy Commissioner Randhawa and SSP Meena take stock of the preparations of the state level event at Khatkar Kalan

  • Birth Anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh to be observed as a state-level function


Khatkar Kalan: The birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh will be celebrated by the Punjab government as a state level event on September 28 at Khatkar Kalan. This was revealed by Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa accompanied by the SSP Bhagirath Singh Meena  today after chairing a meeting of various departments  at Khatkar Kalan for reviewing the arrangements of the event.
     

Randhawa asked the various officials to diligently perform the assigned duties. He said that proper parking, toilets and direction boards should be arranged keeping in mind that the guests and people coming to the event should not face any inconvenience.
   

The Deputy Commissioner said that the example set by the country's great martyr Sardar Bhagat Singh along with Rajguru and Sukhdev, can never be forgotten.
   

He said that Khatkar Kalan being the native village of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh's family is a symbol of faith for the entire country, where  people would come from far and wide to  pay their respects to the great martyrs.
   

SSP Bhagirth Singh Meena said that in view of the arrangements being made by the Punjab government to commemorate the birth anniversary  as a state-level event, the district police in collaboration with the local district administration would ensure all arrangements related to security and traffic arrangements, so that those who reach here do not face any difficulty.
     

ADC (G) Rajiv Verma, ADC (D) Amardeep Singh Bains, SDM Nawanshahr Dr.  Shivraj Singh Ball, SDM Banga Dr. Gurleen Sidhu, SP (H) Gurmeet Kaur, SP (PBI) Iqbal Singh, DSP Banga SS Ball, DSP Shehbaz Singh, DDPO Davinder Sharma, AETC (Excise) Hanuwant  Singh, Naib Tehsildar Banga Gurpreet Singh and other officials were also present in the meeting.
