NAKODAR: The Mehat Pur police have arrested Manpreet Singh a resident of Umrewal village for illegal sand mining.
Junior Engineer t mining inspector Ajay Kumar complained to the police that the accused was indulging in illegal quarrying of sand from areas.
The Investigating Officer Harwindar Singh said that a case under section 21 of the Punjab Mining Act and section 379(theft) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and impounded a tractor trolly loaded with sand.
