The Nakodar city police have booked six unidentified miscreants on the charge of snatching cash from a petrol pump.
Rajesh Kumar a salesman at Bharat Petroleum Jalandhar Road complained to the police that three six unidentified accused armed with sharp-edged weapons clubs and a toy pistol came to the pump on March 12 night and barged into the office and attacked him while he was sitting in the office snatched Rs 4000 from him by threatening him and fled away.
Investigating Officer Rannjit Singh said that a case under sections 379-B (snatching) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the unidentified accused and further investigation is on.
This daredevilry snatching act has created a sense of fear and insecurity among residents and has exposed the police's claims of providing special security during the night in town.
