In the year 2013, the Punjab government did not accept the feasibility report prepared by the Health and Family Welfare Department to upgrade Nakodar Civil Hospital from the existing 50 beds to 100 beds.

In a reply under the Right to Information Act, the public information officer of The Punjab Health Systems Corporation had said that Rs 690.00 lakhs were sanctioned in the year 2013-2014 under the Incentive Grant-in aid scheme to upgrade sub-divisional hospital Nakodar.
