The Shahkot police have arrested four persons on the charge of stealing iron wire.
Investigating officer (IO) Balvir Chand said that the accused has been identified as Charanjit Singh alias Vangi son of Fumann Singh a resident of Bau Pur Bet village.
Gurmej Singh a resident of Chak Hathiana village complained to the police that the accused had stolen iron wire used for preparing nets from his store on September 9 and September 20.
IO said a case under sections 370(theft) and 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the IPC was registered against the accused and recovered from his possession 60 kilograms of iron wire.
