CPI calls to oust Modi government to save the constitution

Punjab Tribune Burau

The 28 May will be remembered as a black day when the RSS Patronised Modi government in power un-ashamedly flouted the values  the Indian constitution stands for. This was stated by various speakers addressing the rally organized by the Communist Party of India district Ludhiana unit to demand  arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and release of arrested wrestlers and others who support them . At the very time when the Prime Minister was inaugurating a new building of the Parliament, the women wrestlers who have brought glory to the nation were forcibly  dragged and arrested by the police at the orders of the government.   But Brij Bhushan is roaming free even though an FIR has been lodged against him under several sections including POCSO act.

It is a matter of shame that when the young girls were being dragged and arrested, the criminal Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is a BJP member of Parliament  was sitting in the Parliament.Instead of giving  justice the Modi government has unleashed repression on the women wrestlers and arrested them by forcibly dragging them.

The large-scale arrests  of the activists  in Haryana and in Delhi who wanted to go to support the women wrestlers is highly condemnable. This is a reflection of Fascist approach  of the government led by  Narendra Modi . The time chosen to arrest them at the very hour when the parliament was being inaugurated is similar to the release of Bilkis Bano. They were released exactly at the same time when the prime minister was talking of beti bachao beti padhao from the red fort and 15th August 2022.

Those who addressed include Comrades D P Maur, Chamkaur Singh, M S Bhatia, Ramesh Rattan, Vijay Kumar.

This information has been shared by the party through a press note to the media.
