The chamber of commerce and Good morning welfare club Koktpaura has taken an initiative to draw yellow lines on both sides of the railway road Kotkapura.
"The initiative has been taken by the chamber of commerce and Good morning club with the help of local police, under the supervision of Shamsher Singh Shergill,DSP Kotkapura and Gurmehar Singh,SHO city Kotkapura," reads the press note by the social welfare organizations.
"The initiative has been taken up on an experimental basis and if it is successful, we have plans to draw such lines on all the major roads of the town. A 5 feet space has been left on either side of the road to park rehrisa and small vehicles so that no vehicles are parked along the road side outside the yellow line," said Gurinder Singh Mehndiratta, a member of the Good morning club Kotkapura.
It is pertinent to mention that due to the wrong parking of vehicles on the major roads of the town, such as Jaitu road and railway road, there are often traffic jams and traffic police face a tough time to streamline the flow of the traffic.

"Nobody would be allowed to float the traffic rules and we appeal to the public to support us for the smooth flow of the traffic," said DSP Shamsher Singh Shergill,DSP Kotkapura in the press note issued by the club of morning walkers and chamber of commerce.
