Wheat arrival in kapurthala district takes picks up as about 25 thousand MT wheat coming in 42 Mandi’s across the district on daily basis .
Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal today said that the target of procurement of wheat in the district is about 3 lakh MT out of which 53178 MT have been purchased till yesterday.
He said that the procurement of wheat in 42 grain markets of the district was going on smoothly. A total of 53636 MT of wheat arrived in the district, out of which 53178 MT have been purchased, which makes 99 % of the total wheat arrived in Mandi’s .
Similarly, the lifting of wheat also made around 137 % of the set target in 48 hours after purchase .
The target of lifting of wheat procurement was 5925 MT in 48 hours whereas 8156 MT has been lifted .
Deputy Commissioner also said that Rs. 53.33 crore have been paid to farmers against 34.38 crore rupees which has to be made within 48 hours of purchase, which makes it 155 %.
