Strict action by the DC kapurthala-  suspends arms license of a person for threatening Revenue superintendent. Order to immediately deposit the weapons at police station besides giving written reply in 15 days

In a strict action , Deputy commissioner kapurthala Vishesh sarangal today ordered to suspend the arms license of Harvinder resident of Dhudianwal near Kapurthala for allegedly threatening 

to shoot the Revenue Superintendent.

 

The action has been taken by the Deputy Commissioner after Superintendent Satbir Singh brought this matter to his notice in writing.

 

Narinder Singh , Senior assistant was suspended from government service on the basis of a written complaint by DRO Kapurthala on March 21 as Narinder Singh along with two others went to the DRO office and threatened in the matter related to investigation, due to which the Deputy Commissioner suspended the concerned employee and issued show cause notices to his 2 colleagues. .

 

According to complaint to the Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh Cheema, brother of suspended Narinder Singh, who holds him responsible for the suspension, threatened to shoot him. 

 

 It was requested by the complainant that Harvinder Singh Cheema lives in front of his house, due to which his life and property are in danger.

 

 After examining the facts on file in this case and keeping in mind the emergency of the case, Deputy commissioner using the powers under Section 17 (3) A of the Arms Act 1959 to prevent any untoward incident, Arms Licensee Harvinder Singh, resident of village Dhudianwal, district Kapurthala, firearms license number DM/KPT /Arms/S.L.D. 1219-16 on which 32 bore revolver and 12 bore gun weapons are registered, has been suspended in view of public interest and safety of the applicant.

 

According to the issued order, the arms license holder has been instructed to deposit his arms in the concerned police station and submit his arms license along with the receipt at the Deputy Commissioner's office.  

 

Along with this, the licensee is bound to give his written reply to the office within 15 days as to why his arms license should not be cancelled.

 

Deputy Commissioner said that strict action will be taken against those who threaten the employees and disrupt the duty.

 

 He said that the officers and employees are working diligently and strict action will be taken against those who threaten them and disturb the work.

 

According to these orders, SSP Kapurthala has been directed to confiscate the arms in case the licensee failed to deposit it .
