The Lohian Khas police have arrested the second accused for using cast remarks and assault.
Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Onkar Singh Brar said the accused has been identified as Harwindar Singh alias Dholo, son of Tarsem Singh, resident of Basti Kang Kalan village.
Gurpreet Daudhar, alias Yama, a resident of the same village, had complained to the police that on May 27, he was sitting in his house discussing a village issue when the one accused, ex Sarpanch Harbhajan Singh(who had been arrested earlier ), came and requested him to come to his house under a conspiracy, where the other two accused were already sitting.
The complainant had said all the accused said they do not recognise any panchayat, and started beating him and said that” Chuharre “Sarpanch like you are roaming her and there.
DSP said a case under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 3(5) (committing crime with common intention ) and section 3(1) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act 1989 was registered against the accused and one other.
