The Shahkot police have arrested the second accused on the charges of attempting to murder a villager.
Investigating officer (IO) Buta Ram said that the arrested accused had been identified as Jasvir Singh a resident of Udho Wal village colonies under Mehat Pur police station.
Lovpreet Singh a resident of Parjian Khurd village complained to the police that the accused and their accomplices had waylaid him on 24 May and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons to kill and seriously injure and threaten him.
IO said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) 323,326(voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 506(criminal intimidation), and 34(committing the crime with common intention) of the IPC was registered against the accused and six others are absconding.
