"No machine operator can charge more than Rs 6000 upto the demarcation of 25 acres of land,' said Vineet Kumar,DC Muktsar regulating the rates for the demarcation of land in the district.
This way, the demarcation of land is done by the GPS system, which is considered to be more accurate and less time consuming that the manual measurement of the land.
"If the machine operator demarcates the land above 25 acres of land, he is allowed to charge Rs 250 per acre. If anybody found violating the regulated rates, he will be taken to task," the DC Muktsar said.
The DC has instructed all the Kanugoes of the district to ensure the implementation of regulated rates.
The decision has been taken in the meeting of the machine operators keeping the interests of the farmers into mind.
This decision would lead to an decrease of the burden upon the farming community.
In some areas, even Rs 1000 is being charged per acre, the sources said.
The regulation of rates would provide the farmers a chance to complain against the machine operators for violating the instructions.
