The Shahkot police have busted a gang of robbers and arrested two members.
Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Onkar Singh Brar said the accused have been identified as Sata Singh, son of Amar Singh, Simranjit Singh alias Yadu, son of Gurnam Singh, and Rajveer Singh alias Raja, all residents of Toti village under Sultan Pur police station in Kapurthala.
Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Nangal Ambian village, had complained to the police that the accused, carrying firearms, reached his motor on August 12, detained his migrant servant and his daughter, beat them, took Rs 5000 in cash and a smartphone, and stole 40 kg of wheat.DSP said that the accused was also carrying firearms, barged into a poultry farm of Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Jalala Bad village in Moga, in Shahkot village on 12 August, detained his servant, beat him, stole ducks, and duck feed.
DSP said a case under sections 309(4) (robbery), 127(2) (wrongful confinement), and 61(2) (criminal
conspiracy) of the BNS and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused.
