Unidentified gangsters booked for threatening Nakodar MLA’s son

 

NAKODAR

The Nakodar Sadar police have booked unidentified gangsters on the charge of threatening the Nakodar MLA’ s son.

Amandeep Singh son of Sarabjit Singh a resident of Bir Pind village, complained to the police that his mother Inderjit Kaur is Nakodar MLA and he has his own business.

He said that on May 10 morning, he received a message on his phone number from an unknown phone number that threatened him to remain in his house or face action. He said that after this he received a missed call from another number and tried to contact these numbers but to no avail.

He said that he often accompanies his MLA mother and there is a danger to his life, adding that these numbers should be traced, and legal action be taken against the concerned accused.

The investigating officer Harvinder Singh said a case under sections 384(extortion) and 506(criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the unidentified accused.

 

This incident of threat to MLA ‘s son has created a sense of insecurity and fear among residents.   Nakodar residents said extortions by gangsters are increasing day by day and businessmen who receive threatening calls are paying ransom money as police have failed to provide secure living conditions for citizens.
