“The dates for paddy trasplation have been announced by the government. According to notification issued by the state government, the Direct sowing of paddy can be started from May 20 across the state.The major crop, which is manually translated, can be started from June 16 in Faridkot,” said Dr Karanjeet Singh Gill,chief agriculture officer Faridkot.
He said that the farmers who adopt the DSR technique, would be remunerated Rs 1500 per acre.
The government has ensured 8 hours power supply during the paddy season.
Faridkot has a targeted area under DSR of about 25130 acres.
