The Mehat Pur police have arrested a truck driver and booked an unidentified car driver on the charge of causing death by negligence, rash driving on the public road, and mischief.
The Investigating Officer (IO) Janak Raj said that the accused truck driver has been identified as Pargat Singh son of Gurdev Singh a resident of Bhattan village under Dehlon police station in Ludhiana.
Navjot Singh a resident of Mohalla Balochan, Mehat Pur town ge complained to the police that his brother Jai Deep Singh (25) was going to Nakodar on his motorcycle on May 12 when an unidentified car(PB-63-C-0454) driver driving negligently and very fat his brother’s motorcycle near Meharu Pulli and truck driver (PB-12-T-9950) hit his brother from behind and injured him seriously who succumbed to his injuries.
IO said that a case under sections 304-A (causing death by negligence) 279(rash driving on a public way) and 427(mischief) of the IPC has been registered against the truck driver and an unidentified car driver.
