The Jalandhar (rural) police have arrested 44 proclaimed offenders in a special campaign launched against the criminal following imposition of a code of conduct of the Lok Sabha bye-election of the Jalandhar parliamentary constituency.
Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar said that a special campaign was launched in Jalandhar (rural) police district against proclaimed offenders(Pos) and 44 have been arrested till May 6.
SSP said that the 57 POs of petty crime have been deleted from the PO list under the Punjab Police Rules 23.23 with the approval of the Jalandhar deputy commissioner.
SSP said that a special campaign has been
launched to arrest the POs by forming special teams at the district level and police station levels.
