NAKODAR
The Nakodar city police have arrested a Nurmahal resident on charges of purchasing stolen goods from drug peddlers and thieves.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Har Gurdev Singh said that the accused has been identified as Om Parkash son of Bhagwan Dass a resident of Mohalla Kohlian Nurmahal.
SHO said the police have received a piece of information that the accused is indulging in purchasing stolen items from drug peddlers and bad elements and was arrested at a Naka.
SHO said that the police searched his house on his demarcation and recovered 115 costly mobile phones, 5 gas cylinders. two stone cutting machines, two carpenter’s planes, 5 bundles of electric wires, and 3 LCDs from his store.
SHO said a case under sections 379(theft) and 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
