NAKODAR
The total purchase of wheat grain by the state government agencies from farmers on Saturday crossed 4 lakhs 50,900 quintals which is more than the fixed target of 4 Lakhs 38,733 quintals in grain markets under the jurisdiction of the Nakodar market committee.
Committee secretary Tejinder Kumar said this year’s purchase is more than target despite bad weather adding that purchasing agencies are expecting some more quintals purchase. He said that 2,93,308 quintals of purchased wheat had been lifted and 1,57,592 quintals remain un-lifted, and farmers have been paid till 27 April.
