Faridkot police have claimed dto have arrested about 13 persons who had attacked a family in Faridkot and their house was vandalized,damaged.
“More than 20 persons have been found to be involved in the attack on a family of Faridkot on the night of April 30. The police have arrested 13 of them including the main accused Pawan Kumar Goldy,Sukhjeet Singh alias Nikku,Dharmpreet Singh and Vinod Kumar. The main accused had an old enmity with the family of the complainant and they, hatched a conspiracy with some of their accomplices from Faridkot and other districts of the state,” said Harjeet Singh,SSP Faridkot briefing the media today at city police station Faridkot.
“It was a serious offence as the accused had deadly weapons in their possession to attack the family. They damaged the house of the complainant and entered the house in an attempt to kill them,so the police have charged them for this serious offence under section 307 of IPC, an attempted murder,” the SSP said.
The complainant had stated to the police that they had a narrow escape in the attack.
"The locals gathered there and then the accused fled," the complaint reads.
“All the accused have been identified by the police and the city police of Faridkot town have been conducting raids to nab the absconding. There are more than 20 people involved in the crime,” said Harjeet Singh,SSP Faridkot.
According to him, there was an old enmity between the two families on the issue of a love affair between the girl and a boy from the families.
The police had registered a case against 13 persons by name earlier on the complaint of Vinod Kumar son of Kishori Lal, Mohialla Mahikhana of Faridkot at city police station Faridkot under sections 458(Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night after preparation for hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint).,427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees.),507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication)and later on the police added section 307(attempt to murder) and 34(common intent) of IPC.
