Speaker unveils the statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in West Point School Sandhwan

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Monday unveiled the statue of Sher-E-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh in West Point School Sandhwan.
"Maharaja Ranjit Singh was great and the  last ruler of Punjab and during his lifetime, the British could not dare to attack Punjab . He had an unmatched system of administration in his empire and all the people from all religions were living very peacefully together.There is no comparison in history to his bravery and system of justice besides religious tolerance. I congratulate the school management for setting up his statue because it is a very big inspiration to the students. I urge the students to envisage the personality of the great Sikh ruler in their life for his bravery,peace and justice," said Sandhwan, addressing the students.
The school students had an elegant parade and gave a salute to the chief guest, Sandhwan.
"Though ours is not an army school, yet we strive best to instill bravery, enthusiasm and values of life in our students so that they can serve the society and country the best way and touch sky heights in their life," said Himmat Singh Nakai, the director of the WPS.
Harleen Kaur Nakai, the principal of the school said that it was a big honour for the school to set the statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh on the premises of school.
