NAKODAR
The Nakodar city police have arrested a tractor-trolley driver on charges of causing death by negligence, causing grievous hurt by act endangering the life or personal safety of others, rash driving on the public road, and mischief.
The investigating officer (IO) Ranjit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Hardip Singh son of Darshan Singh a resident of Mohalla Kaamal Pura Nakodar.
Sukhdev Singh a resident of Warra Budh Singh village in Shahkot complained to the police that the accused was driving his tractor trolley very fast and negligently and hit the motorcycle of his brother near a petrol pump on Nakodar- Malsian road on April 13 and killed on the spot Jaswant Singh and seriously injured his nephew Karanbir Singh and badly damaged two wheeler
IO said a case under sections 304-A (causing death by negligence), 279 (rash driving on public roads) 337and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 427 (mischief) of the IPC has been registered against Hardip Singh.
