The Shahkot police have booked a couple on the charge of criminal trespass and committing a crime with common intention.
The investigating officer (IO) Lakhbir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Jaswant Singh son of Rattan Singh a resident of Dharam Kot in Muga and his wife Swaran Deep Kaur.
Sukhdev Singh a resident of Lange Wal village complained to the police that the accused forcibly ploughed a watercourse into his fields and removed the demarcation pillars installed by the revenue department in his land.
IO said that a case under sections 447(criminal trespass) ,489(removing destroying or defacing property mark with intent to cause injury ), and 34(committing the crime with common intention ) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
