The Shahkot police have arrested a village resident on the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The investigating officer (IO) Lakhvir Singh said that the accused has been identified as Balwant Singh son of Najar Singh a resident of Meinye Wal Moulvian village.
Rajiv Kumar a resident of Mohalla Talorri Shahkot complained to the police that the accused hit his father Jogindar Singh on the head on February 10 who succumbed to injuries on February 12.
IO said that a case under section 304(culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused. The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
