DC Muktsar Vineet Kumar on Thursday canceled the licences of four IELTS centres in the town as their licences had expired.
The DC said that the IELTS centres, immigration consultants and ticket booking agents as issued licences by Punjab government under"Punjab Travel Professional regulation act "which are normally valid for 5 years.
"But these four IELTS centres had expired their licenses and still they neither applied for the renewal of those nor surrendered them. All such centres in the district are warned either to renew their licenses two months before their expiry or surrender those," said Vineet Kumar,DC Muktsar.
The act is meant to plug loopholes in the consultancy business so that the people can not be cheated by fake travel agencies which run unregulatedly.
